Industry-Academia Alliance: Axis-Triangle Group and DIU Sign Strategic MoU

Axis-Triangle Group, the parent company of Triangle Engineers Ltd. (TEL), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Daffodil International University (DIU) on 07 May 2025 to jointly develop industry-focused micro-credential programs. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic education and real-world industry needs. Two initial courses—Fire Fighting Systems and Green Building Design—will be launched under this collaboration.
On 07 May 2025, Axis-Triangle Group — a prominent multidisciplinary engineering and construction firm — signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Daffodil International University (DIU) to co-create micro-credential courses designed to align academic outcomes with industry requirements. The signing ceremony took place at Daffodil Smart City, DIU’s modern campus in Savar, Dhaka.
The event was chaired by Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of DIU, who emphasized the importance of equipping graduates with practical, job-ready skills. Representing the university, Professor Dr. M. R. Kabir, Advisor of the Micro-Credentials Cell, formalized the agreement with Engr. Md. Shahjahan Alam, Chairman of Axis-Triangle Group.
Engr. Sharif Al Mahmud, Chief Operating Officer of Triangle Engineers Ltd., attended as a key industry representative. TEL, as a sister concern of Axis-Triangle Group, will play an instrumental role in delivering real-world knowledge and facilitating hands-on exposure for students in the fields of fire safety, MEP, and sustainable building systems.
As an initial step, the collaboration will focus on delivering two specialized micro-credential courses:
- Fire Fighting Systems
- Green Building Design
These courses are designed to bridge the gap between academic instruction and the evolving needs of the job market. Students will benefit from: Real project site visits, Internship opportunities, Joint mentoring by industry professionals and academic faculty, Job placements based on performance, etc.
This partnership reflects a shared vision to enhance youth employability and foster innovation in engineering education. Both parties expressed optimism that this initiative will serve as a model for future academia-industry collaborations in Bangladesh.
